Brentwood Arts Exchange | November 11 - December 28, 2019

Visitors were invited to select from a library of custom VHS recordings and insert the tapes into up to eight players. Each tape is dubbed with video clips extracted from internet sources, focusing on secondary and peripheral subjects— those who are knowingly on-camera but not the focus of the shot. The original soundtrack for each VHS is designed to harmonize with any combination of other tapes within the library. Constituents is an absurd theater: an audiovisual exploration of fragmentation and the ambience of the in-between.
